The Cumberland Bridge was totally rehabilitated in 1999, and is located in Matthews Indiana, crossing the Mississinewa River.
The bridge had floated off of its foundations years ago and had to be retrieved and repaired, then rolled back onto its abutments, at that time it was raised to prevent this from happening again.
This is one of the most well maintained covered bridges in existence, thanks to the dedicated efforts of one local resident – Larry Barnett.
