This bridge built over the Patoka River near Winslow Indiana, included 18″ shell piling to support the bridge, which has 150′ long precast concrete bulb tee beams. Each beam was not only 150 ft long but also weighed in at 160,000 lbs.
This bridge replaced an old through truss bridge which unfortunately was not able to be salvaged.
This job also required a slight change in the road alignment, as the old bridge was at an angle to the road to cross the river at a zero skew, so the new bridge was built on a skew to keep the roadway straight
